The first thing that grabs me when I look at this graphic is simply how much bigger the leader in the CDN market is.

After 21 years in the game (and inventing the game itself!) Akamai are bigger than all of the competitors they have attracted combined !

Even the competitors we come across more often than not (Amazon, Cloudflare and Fastly) are in the second tier of competitors. Incapsula (though really just a WAF provider) don’t even figure in this diagram.

Akamai are still market leaders. Their size and capability is immense. This is why they are trusted day in day out by the major Internet properties around the world.
