UK Schools Offered Free Cyber Service

ITogether is supporting UK Schools implement a new, free ransomware protection service backed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The PDNS (Protective Domain Name System) for Schools service is powered by GCHQ and used by key government bodies and blocks access to malicious domains before they can wreak havoc.

Why? With incidents at record levels, the need for robust cyber defences has never been clearer. Last year, over a third of UK schools experienced cyber incidents. Ransomware attacks are particularly common, exposing sensitive data, especially at-risk students.

How? Supported by Cloudflare and Accenture, it updates its list of malicious domains every 30 minutes, thanks to intelligence sources only available to national security services.

This initiative is a significant step forward in safeguarding educational environments.
